7.What is your say on the cycling community today?
Overwhelming. In Sabah, Beaufort shows the third largest growth in cycling. The transformation has surprised me. I can see more bicycle shops and commuters on the street. Besides that, the establishment of oBike has made Malaysia a more bicycle-friendly country.
8. How does cycling promote economy and tourism advancement?
Personally, I have 7 bicycles. In my housing area, there is a popular destination where tourists can discover a variety of wildlife, including the Proboscis Monkey, Macaque Monkey, and thousands of fireflies in a mangrove swamps forest.
Cycling can be an ideal mode of transportation in Beaufort. I have encountered tourists calling for bike rental. Tourists will ride to Kuala Penyu and Menumbok, and are pleased to ride on a bicycle, and visit around the town. They can even ride to rural area to explore more hidden attractions.
It can help boost the economy of villages, at the same time, augment the tourism.
9. What do you see to be the most likely state of cycling in the future?
Mushroom grows almost everywhere, on every natural material imaginable. So I would say, cycling is like mushroom, it has become a ubiquitous phenomenon.
Everyone has a mutual vision, which is to encourage more people to cycle, and practice a healthy lifestyle. In the future, I hope to see more nation representatives being raised.
Cycling has changed my lifestyle, mood, health and relationship with the community. In short, I should always take the initiative to make the first move, in order to inspire.
