16th September 2018, Johor – Organized by Muara Cycling Club (Kelab Berbasikal Muara) and supported by Municipal Council of Muar (Majlis Perbandaran Muar), the 5th MCC Pagoh MTB Challenge attracted more than 1,350 participants.
The main objective of this event was not only to build up a good interaction between mountain biking clubs and lovers, but also to promote tourism, real estate, and higher education industries in Muar district.
Covering two categories, Epic Challenge (65km) was flagged off at 7.30am whereas Jamboree (40km) was flagged off at 8.00am by Dr. YB Shahrudin Bin Jamal, Exco Kesihatan, Alam Sekitar & Pertanian Johor and Hj Mustaffa Kamal Bin Hj Shamsudin, Yang Dipertua Majlis Perbandaran Muar. Other VIPs included Mr. Lim Han Hwa, MCC, Mr. Mohd Azmi Bin Abdullah, Sime Darby, Mr. Chester Lim, Liqui Moly Malaysia, and Mr. Ng See Cheng, Poh Huat Resources also showed their great presences.
This MTB challenge was aimed to attract the hardcore mountain biking enthusiasts, encourage eager amateurs to get outside and have some fun in the muddy trail. Mountain biking is growing among women, not forgetting families with kids, which part of this MTB event was to target this group of riders to enjoy the spectacular views of mother nature.
5th MCC Pagoh MTB Challenge 2018 was sponsored by Sime Darby Pagoh Development Sdn Bhd, Poh Huat Resources Holdings Berhad, Liqui Moly Malaysia and more. Prizes worth up to RM60,000 were given to lucky draw winners including SRAM Eagle Groupsets, motorcycles, and Merida Mountain Bikes.
