What made Jeff go aero? Jeff knows that with a construction of a better system as well as other equipment gives him the potential to reach a higher cycling performance.

Jeff chose Lightweight wheels for its ultra-stiffness and lightness. He has devoted 8 years of passion for road cycling to Lightweight wheels and its purpose has never once disappointed him. Made in Germany, Lightweight wheels are entirely built in carbon, including the rims and spokes. The tubeless tyres helps in overcoming rough terrains wherefore Jeff can enjoy a pleasant ride. Hence, its stiffness and lightness are just ideal for his riding needs.

A road bike should not be described as scrupulous without a comfortable saddle! Jeff introduced us his impeccable choice – Astute Skylite VT Saddle because of its soft padding. Some road cyclists prefer a saddle with hard surface, however to Jeff, a saddle with soft padding has benefited his backbone. Constructed with microfiber, not only does this Italian product keeps weight low with a full-carbon rail, it is also waterproof and enhances the ergonomics and comfort of the saddle. Moreover, its memory foam boosts Jeff’s cycling performance after intense rides. The overall quality, materials and design are simply exemplary for all-day comfort!

Jeff wanted the bike to be light so Germany-based MCFK’s road handlebar is favoured. At 167g, it is the most light-weight series handlebar in the market. Furthermore, the ergonomics concept permits Jeff with his hands on the bottom bars without higher stress on his back.

Last but not least, Jeff augmented his project bike by adding on Germany’s Berner carbon fibre derailleur cage. It uses an oversized 15/15T pulleys to reduce drivetrain friction. Jeff highlighted that it is mounted with Ceramic Speed bearings. “My pulley usually produces a lot of movements when I attempt to change gears. Thus, Berner is quintessential to my road bike as the cage is made from carbon fibre. It is stiff yet light, where strength is required to move the chain yet stand the strain of multiple gear changes.” Jeff noted making a point that a premium pulley is vital.

It was a bombshell gaining an insight into Jeff’s cycling world. Someone who is skilled at bicycle servicing, knowledgeable about the bicycle inside out and able to grasp what exactly suits him as a frequent road cyclist. This LOOK project bike is ultra-light at 6.3kg, fits Jeff’s prime requirement. A total RM65,000 was invested on his project bike. Quoted by Jeff, “Like luxury cars, a bicycle should be luxurious too.”
