The Tradewinds Langkawi International Mountain Bike Challenge (LIMBC) 2014 was back in its 4th year for a bigger and better event. Organized by Human Voyage Sdn Bhd, this event saw many international cyclists from around the world. With such an event, Malaysian cyclists had the opportunity to compete with the world’s top cyclists.

The competition was definitely heating up with the tires blazing under the hot Malaysian weather. The ambience of the 6-day race, plus the UCI MTB Marathon, was spectacular, and the momentum was always high throughout the week. On the fifth and final stage, Tun. Dr. Mahathir Mohammad was present to award the prize to the winners.

The Overall Winner for Men’s Master was Nicholas Craig. For Men Elite, Michal Lami of Slovakia National held off a strong challenge from Team Bulls rider Karl Platt. Lami took home the championship at the end of the heated race.

The overall winner for Men’s Senior Master was Mads Boedker, while the overall winner for Men Open was Seree Ruangsiri. The overall winner for Women’s Elite was Eva Lechner from Conalgo Sudtirol, who clinched her first Tradewinds LIMBC title in style.

Malaysians also had the opportunity to stand on the podium where Muhamad Fauzan Ahmad Lutfi was awarded the Overall Best Malaysian Male Rider and Masziyaton Mohd Raz as the Overall Best Asian and Best Malaysian Female Rider. Kohei Yamamoto took home the Best Asian Male Rider.
