Thus, here are some tips that you can help yourself, as well as your family and friends to look after their mental health.
1.Having anxiety is completely normal
Firstly, recognize that having anxiety is normal, and is actually a healthy function that alerts us to threats and helps us take measures to protect ourselves.
Your anxiety is going to help you make safety and precautionary decisions such as avoid big gatherings, social distance, mask up and wash your hands regularly. These feelings and actions will not only help you but the community too.
Beyond that, yes, anxiety is normal during the pandemic, but it is also important to pay attention to how you are feeling. Then look for healthy ways and support to cope with these feelings of anxiety and stress.

2. Take a break & Get active
Been feeling isolated and on your screen most of the time? Try taking a break away from your device and get active.
Getting a workout in can help reduce feelings of anxiety and other difficult feelings. There’s plenty of ways you can stay active during a pandemic. You can go for runs, walks, cycling, join an online indoor exercise class, or even yoga. Try teaming up with family and friends or take part in virtual challenges to keep you accountable and motivated.

3. Find new ways to connect
Due to the pandemic, we have to adapt to the new norm and find new ways to connect. There’s plenty of creative ways and platforms available to stay connected. For instance, joining Tik Tok challenges such as #KitaJagaKita or #SafeHands to stay connected with your friends or the community in Malaysia.

4. It’s time to focus on yourself
Always wanted to learn to do something new like read a new book, start baking, or learn a new language? New is the best time to do that.
Focusing on yourself and finding ways to take a break to relax and recharge is a great way to take care of your mental health.

5. Reach out
During times like these, it is important to talk about our feelings. Talking can help put things into perspective and help us feel less isolated. However, it may be hard to reach out, but talking to a trusted friend or family member may help relieve these stress and doubts.
Besides that, if you see this happening to your friend, try to offer support. Your words can make a big difference to the other person.
