The 2019 National Track Cycling Championship being held from 25th to 26th August 2019, at Velodrom National Nilai ended today.
One of the highlights of the many elite and junior track cyclists’ smashes and performances that took place over the past two days included Sofian Nabil, Malaysian professional cyclist who made a stunning comeback after bagging his silver medal success at the 2017 KL SEA Games men’s omnium category.
“I was called to come back to the track, to compete in the team pursuit representing Selangor at the National Championship,” Sofian said. “It has been a very long time since I last rode in the velodrome,”
Perak’s Muhammad Hakimi, Muhammad Yusri, Ariff Danial, and Muhammad Anuar Ibrahim surged to a team pursuit victory in 4:24.505 on the opening day of the National Track Cycling Championship.
Selangor’s Zamirul Adlisham, Muhammad Firdaus, Sofian Nabil Omar, and Eiman Firdaus Zamri crossed the line in 4:24.910, and finished second place.
Sabah’s Lim Chun Kiat, Waldron Chee, Bong Yong Xian, and Darren Chong Tshun Lok clocked 4:28.395 and settled for the bronze.
