Klang Première Century Ride 2015 (KPCR 2015), an annual event spearheaded by one of Klang’s leading hospitality landmarks, Première Hotel Klang, was nothing short of excitement. The cycling event, targeted a total of 1,500 participants, out of which 1,000 was allotted for the 128km Premiere Century Ride, while the remaining 500 was for the 18km Fun Ride.
Aptly themed as “Kayuhan Mesra Masyarakat Bersama PDRM”, KPCR 2015 was co-hosted by Police District Headquarters (IPD) Klang Selatan and IPD Kuala Langat in addition to being the title sponsor.
For the 128km Premiere Century Ride, there were three categories for cyclists to compete in, which were Men’s Open (16 years old and above), Men’s Veteran (40 years old and above) and Women’s Open (16 years old and above). The race course took them through the Klang-Banting road towards Morib and through Carey Island, before turning back to Première Hotel Klang as the finishing point.
The Fun Ride was opened to all ages and this course included many historical buildings and famous landmarks such as pre-war shop lots, Klang railway station and fire station, Little India, Royal Gallery Sultan Abdul Aziz, Jambatan Kota and the Raja Mahadi Fort.
