Some 2,000 cyclists embarked on a 138km ride through three states of Kedah, Penang and Perak during the Ideal Property Group CFAL Tristate 1st Edition ride. The cyclists were flagged off at Highway Auto-City in Juru, Bukit Mertajam in Penang, at 6.30am by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng. Also present were Bukit Tengah assemblyman Ong Chin Wen, Batu Kawan MP Kasthuriraani Patto, Seberang Prai Municipal Council president Datuk Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Auto-City managing director Gary Teoh, G-Club Penang Cyclist chairman Datuk Dr Lim Seh Guan, and LP Cycling Club chairman Albert Loo Ming Teck.

They rode through the early morning breeze, scenic oil palm estates and mountainous roads in Selama, Perak and Mahang, Lunas, and Kulim in Kedah before returning to the starting point at noon. Many riders made quick stops to fill up their water bottles at the water stations at the 50km, 78km, 95km and 115km points.

A fire engine was also placed at the 95km U-turn point at Infineon Technologies in Kulim and at the ending point in Auto-City to provide a cooling ‘shower’ for the riders. At the end of the ride, the participants were given pewter medals and later were treated to a buffet lunch. The event was organized by G-Club Penang Cyclists, in collaboration with LP Cycling Club and the Seberang Prai Municipal Council. Ideal Property Group was the main event sponsor.
