A total of 350 participants, which included 30 international participants, competed to win the prize money worth RM83,800.
The Malaysia Book of Records declared this International Duathlon as the THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL CROSS BORDER DUATHLON IN MALAYSIA when the north of Perlis in Malaysia and Satun District of Thailand opened borders for the participants to compete. This event was flagged off at 7.30am in Gua Kelam by a member of Exco Belia & Sukan, Pelancongan, Kebudayaan, Kesenian & Warisan Perlis, YB Tuan Abdul Jamil Saad.
Menteri Besar YAB Dato’ Seri Azlan Man gave out the prizes to the winners. Accompanying him were YB Tuan Abdul Jamil Saad, Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri Perlis and Ketua Polis Negeri Perlis. A representative from the Malaysia Book of Records Encik Zulhairi was present to give the certificate of declaration.
