It is not a sight you see every day, and if you are stopping by Kuala Terengganu, you might be fascinated by the turnout as the participants of the Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) Yellow Ride 2019 will be pedaling along one of the most popular beaches to visit by the locals as well as travelers.
More than 2,000 participants including Malaysians and foreigners participated in the second edition of TSG Yellow Ride in Kuala Terengganu on the 16th February. Kickstarted at Pantai Batu Buruk, the purpose of this 100-kilometer ride was not to seek a winner, but to raise public awareness on the importance of engaging in healthy activities, including cycling.
Apart from riding with the professional riders from TSG, the ride was all about getting in touch and promoting camaraderie and fellowship among one another. Additionally, it was also aimed at promoting Terengganu’s tourist attractions, especially to foreign participants as well as TSG that has created its own history when it won the yellow jersey and overall winner at Le Tour de Langkawi 2018.
Flagged off at 7.45am by Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Pembangunan Belia, Sukan dan NGO Negeri (Chairman of Youth Development, Sports and NGO), YB. Ustaz Wan Sukairi Wan Abdullah, TSG’s Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Farhan Abdul Wahab also joined the throngs and showed his support.
After the ride, there was a meet and greet session for the local fans with the riders from TSG. Fans were allowed to take pictures and autographs from them idols.
