KUALA LUMPUR, 27th October 2014—A team of over 40 cyclists including children, organized and headed by Johnny Ng, the owner of The Bike Shop in Bandar Utama, gathered for a fun adventure to make a difference in someone’s life. They cycled to a special-needs care center called Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Insan Wilayah in Old Klang Road to spread joy.
In order to raise money for the charity, T-shirts with the tagline, “No Gaya Never Mind Janji Happy” were printed and 188 T-shirts were successfully sold. Johnny made sure he was making a distinct difference in these children’s lives; hence he donated three 16-inch GTA bikes, two 20-inch Speed gear bikes, one bike pump, and a shelf rack, which the entire team, in the spirit of unity, built together inside the home. A sum of RM4000 was raised for the children.
The riders gathered at The Bike Shop and began their adventure at 8am. With children onboard, they made sure that safety was always kept in check. They even used the pedestrian bridge to cross to Overseas Union Garden. The total distance ridden by the riders were 40km.
The highlights of the day were the Lion Dance Show and the finger food truck which were brought in by kind sponsors. The children even got free haircut and a fun-filled time with a clown.
This was the very first event organized by Johnny Ng and he has already planned to continue this event next year to spread happiness to more places. This ride, which ended at 1.30pm, was all about helping others and having a good ride in the spirit of camaraderie.
